We believe ALL people should be able to participate in the arts. Uproar provides a free and accessible arts experience for visitors of all abilities.
The Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Center (308 W. Franklin St.) provides FREE trolley transportation in Chapel Hill and Carrboro on Saturdays (July 15 - August 12) from 12-8pm. This is a hop-on/hop-off trolley designed to transport you to different areas of the two towns. Get on at any of the 9 stop locations or plan to park at the Visitors Center and catch the trolley at the top of every hour. The route can be found on the Uproar Map here. It’s free, handicapped accessible, and air conditioned!
The Orange County Department of Transportation provides FREE transportation for people with mobility challenges on Saturdays (July 22 - August 12) from 12-8pm. Mobility on Demand (MOD) units will pick up visitors in the parking lot of Orange County Social Services (113 Mayo Street, Hillsborough). A pick-up/drop-off route will circulate from the parking lot, to Downtown Hillsborough (bus shelter across from Weaver St. Market), to West Hillsborough, and back. Due to limited seating in MOD units, we ask that only patrons needing mobility assistance plus one guest use this service. Users can choose to be dropped off, or stay seated and take a tour of all the sites in the MOD van.
